Commercials lead here
TV, streaming and online commercials are the biggest share of kids' work in LA. They pay more than print and usually start with a self-tape or audition.
Get the entertainment work permit early
California requires an Entertainment Work Permit from the Labor Commissioner for any minor working in entertainment, and 15% of gross earnings goes into a Coogan trust account. A studio teacher is also required on set.
Plan around traffic
Call times are set by the production. Allow for LA traffic and pack snacks, water and a change of clothes.
